Insurance and Coverage

We accept most major commercial plans, and verify your benefits before your first appointment.

Clear Path works with most major commercial insurance plans, so that cost is not the reason you put off getting care. We verify your benefits before your first appointment and explain what your plan covers.

Plans we accept

  • Anthem Blue Cross of California
  • Blue Shield of California
  • Aetna
  • Optum
  • Cigna/Evernorth

Coverage varies by plan within each carrier. If you do not see your provider listed, get in touch and we will talk through the options available to you.

If you do not have coverage we accept

You can pay for your own care. Self-pay is available to every patient, whether or not you have insurance, and you can choose it even if we are contracted with your plan. Contact us for current self-pay rates before you book.

You are also entitled to a written Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost if you are uninsured or you would rather we did not bill your plan. See our Good Faith Estimate notice for how to request one and what it covers.

How verification works

Benefit verification happens before your first appointment, as part of booking. You provide your plan details once, through our secure scheduling system, and our team confirms what your plan covers.

  • Most verifications are completed within 24 hours
  • Your information is kept confidential and protected
  • There is no obligation to proceed after verification
  • We advocate for the maximum coverage available under your plan

What your plan needs to cover

Psychiatric care delivered by video is billed as an outpatient psychiatric service. If you want to check with your insurer directly, ask about CPT code 90792 for a psychiatric evaluation and codes 99213 or 99214 for medication management follow-up visits.

Start with a benefits check

Booking takes a few minutes, and benefit verification is part of it. You will know what your plan covers before your first appointment.

Common questions

Which insurance plans do you accept?

We accept Anthem Blue Cross of California, Blue Shield of California, Aetna, Optum and Cigna/Evernorth. If your plan is not listed it is still worth getting in touch, because coverage varies by plan within each carrier.

How do I find out what my visit will cost?

We verify your benefits before your first appointment and explain what your plan covers, including any copay or deductible that applies. You will know your expected costs before you are seen.

What if my plan does not cover online psychiatry?

Most major plans cover psychiatric care delivered by video the same way they cover any other outpatient visit. If yours does not, you can pay for your own care instead: self-pay is available to every patient. Contact us for current rates.

Can I pay for my own care instead of using insurance?

Yes. Self-pay is available to every patient, whether or not you have insurance, and you can choose it even if we are contracted with your plan. Contact us for current self-pay rates. You are also entitled to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before you are seen.

Which billing codes should I ask my insurer about?

Ask whether your plan covers outpatient psychiatric services, specifically CPT code 90792 for a psychiatric evaluation and codes 99213 or 99214 for medication management follow-up visits.
