About Clear Path

Clear Path Behavioral Health provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management to adults 18 and over across California through secure video visits. Our care team of psychiatrists, psychiatric physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, all licensed in California, works from a shared medical record. Care begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, followed by individualized treatment plans and scheduled follow-up visits. We treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and stress and insomnia, and we accept most major insurance plans.

The role

This position starts fully remote, providing telepsychiatry to adult patients across California. As our Los Angeles clinics open, the role may include on-site clinical work there.

Clinical responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including history, mental status exam, risk assessment, and diagnostic formulation using DSM-5-TR criteria
  • Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions in adults, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and stress and insomnia
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including monitoring effectiveness, side effects, labs, and drug interactions, within California furnishing requirements
  • Provide ongoing medication management through scheduled follow-up visits, using validated rating scales to track progress and screen for side effects
  • Complete risk assessment and safety planning, and connect patients in crisis to appropriate emergency services
  • Provide psychoeducation and supportive counseling within scope of practice, and coordinate psychotherapy referrals
  • Order and interpret relevant laboratory and diagnostic studies
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record

Team responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and care team in case reviews and quality improvement
  • Coordinate care with therapists, primary care providers, and other outside clinicians
  • Maintain current licensure, certification, DEA registration, and required continuing education

Qualifications

  • Master's or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited PMHNP program
  • Current, unrestricted California RN license and California Nurse Practitioner certification from the Board of Registered Nursing
  • National board certification as a PMHNP (PMHNP-BC or equivalent recognized by the BRN)
  • California NP furnishing number, or the ability to obtain one promptly
  • Active DEA registration for California, or the ability to obtain one
  • Current BLS certification
  • Must live in California
  • 3 years of post-licensure psychiatric experience preferred
  • Telepsychiatry experience preferred
  • Bilingual skills a plus

Practice requirements

Practice will follow California law, including standardized procedures and supervision or collaboration as required, unless the candidate qualifies for expanded practice authority under applicable BRN pathways. California is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact, so a California license is required.

Compensation and benefits

  • Full-time base salary range: $160,000 to $200,000
  • Part-time hourly range: $80 to $100 per hour
  • Benefits for full-time and eligible part-time employees: health, dental, vision, malpractice coverage, CME allowance, 401(k), short/long term disability, life insurance, PTO
