About Clear Path

Clear Path Behavioral Health provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management to adults 18 and over across California through secure video visits. Our care team of psychiatrists, psychiatric physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, all licensed in California, works from a shared medical record. Care begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, followed by individualized treatment plans and scheduled follow-up visits. We treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and stress and insomnia, and we accept most major insurance plans.

We are planning to open in-person clinics in the Los Angeles area, and we're looking for a psychiatrist who wants to help build them.

The role

This position starts fully remote, providing telepsychiatry to patients across California. As our Los Angeles clinics open, the role will shift to include regular on-site clinical and leadership work there. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with the practice and take on a larger leadership role over time.

Clinical responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop diagnoses and treatment plans for adult patients
• Provide ongoing medication management through scheduled follow-up visits, using validated rating scales to track progress and screen for side effects
• Coordinate psychotherapy referrals and collaborate with the broader care team
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Provide clinical oversight and supervision of the practice's PAs and NPs, consistent with California requirements

Medical director responsibilities

• Develop, approve, and maintain clinical policies, protocols, and quality standards
• Lead the clinical launch of our in-person clinics, including treatment protocols, patient monitoring, and regulatory compliance
• Participate in clinician recruiting, onboarding, and peer review
• Serve as the clinical lead on quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• MD or DO with a current, unrestricted California medical license
• Board certification in psychiatry
• Active DEA registration for California, or the ability to obtain one
• Experience supervising PAs or NPs, or in a clinical leadership role, preferred
• Experience with interventional psychiatry treatments preferred
• Telepsychiatry experience preferred
• Must live in California and be able to commute to the Los Angeles area once the clinics open

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary range: $225,000 to $275,000
